The Mercer Island Preschool Association hosted our 57th Circus on April 27! We want to thank our Mercer Island community for sharing their talent and time to make this annual event happen.

We had 495 Circus-goers between 1-11 years old. Lots of smiles all day!
There were 13 outstanding MIPA Co-Chairs who delivered the event with 2 meetings, 1 big spreadsheet, and their tremendously creative talents!

MIPA received a generous grant to help run Circus 2024 from the Mercer Island Community Fund, and we had multiple community sponsors: Mercer Island Martial Arts, Baklinski Home Improvement, Stroum Jewish Community Center of Greater Seattle, Mercer Island Storage Court, Country Village Day School, Jessica Livingston - Windermere, Creation Dance Studio, Robyn and Rachel Real Estate, and SanMar.

In addition to Dizzy’s Tumblebus, Inflatables, Reptile Lady, Bubble Man and a Magician, we’re particularly pleased with the volunteer performances and interactive experiences for the kids led by Creation Dance Studio, Mercer Island Martial Arts, and the MIHS Sparkle Cheer team.

Outside we had the City of Mercer Island Touch A Truck, the MISD electric bus, and Firefighters with their firetruck.

The volunteers from the community were outstanding! Our deep appreciation goes to:

MIHS Key Club

MIHS Drama Students

MIHS Football Team

National Charity League Evergreen Chapter

MI Girl Scouts

MI Boy Scouts

Rotary

National League of Young Men

Miss Tiger from the MI Library

Volunteers who ran games from 7 preschools and 4 organizations

This year was amazing, and we'll be back next year!

 History

MIPA’s Circus began in 1966 as a Dr. Seuss-inspired carnival called Circus McGurkus for the children of Mercer Island.  Since then, it has grown into a festival that attracts hundreds of families from all over Seattle and the Eastside.
